Gem #86 - Warning to the Scorner

Rest well assured, O Scorner, that your laughs cannot alter truth, your

ridicule cannot avert your inevitable doom. Though in your foolishness you

should make an alliance with death, and sign a covenant with hell--yet swift

justice will overtake you, and strong vengeance will strike you down. In

vain do you jeer and mock, for eternal truths are mightier than your twisted

lies, nor can your sly sayings alter divine truth of a single word of this

volume of Revelation. Oh! why do you quarrel with your best friend, and ill-

treat you only refuge? There yet remains hope, even for the scorner. Hope

in a Savior's veins. Hope in the Father's mercy. Hope in the Holy Spirit's

supreme means.
