BASIC R.C. BELIEF

A symbolic name for Rome. Peter's writing from there (I Peter 5:13) proves

he was Bishop of Rome. References to Babylon (Revelation 14:8; 16:19; 17:5;

18:2,10,21) refer solely to Pagan Rome.

CHRISTIAN COMMENT

A careful reading of the references to Babylon in Revelation plainly show

this is not speaking of Pagan Rome, but of a future universal religious

power.
