PART I
BACKGROUND...
The Box Office reports that the movie "GHOST" has been the #1
attended movie for the Summer.
It is first a love story. BUT... the major theme of the movie is
about "Life after DEATH", "Spiritualism", and their imposed Doctrines.
The viewer is draw to accepted the realism by presenting a imposter
as a spiritualist. The term "Gift" is present for explaining her real
found abilities to communicate with the dead.
The male lover is murdered by his friend to gain access to a
computer account for laundering drug money. This now "Ghost" begins
to uncover the truth of his death and the story continues until his
murderers die themselves.
Thought out the story the devotion & love for his living mate is
supported by a "hidden" theme that God [ who is represented as "LIGHT" ]
has allowed the Ghost to stay until he has properly protected his
lover from the bad guys.... [ through his new found abilities to move
objects in the spiritual realm & communicating thought a spiritualist.]
The viewer is almost ministered to by presenting believable "Life
after DEATH" fantasies. Other ghost are encounter and the beginnings
of a "spirit" world comes into focus. It's almost like a learning
experience.
A "DEEPER" Look....
The experience of people dyeing was well done from the stand point
of presenting "GOOD" and "EVIL". When a good person died; there was the
presents of a bright beautiful light. Together with an identifying
background music... God was present and acceptance was assumed - but
sure. In all cases, ...other then our ghost, they were received into
the light and taken "upwards". For those who were evil, there were
identifying evil noises and the appearance of black robbed figures
coming up from the ground. The dead spirit had little chance to escape
there powers. They were then pulled down into the ground - fighting
and screaming with great fear. Hell was there apparent destination.
The viewer has now the movies standard for "Good" & "Evil". If you
are accepted by the light - then you are on the GOOD side. If the black
robbed demon like figures, come for you; then you are EVIL.
Most important here is that the spiritualist is presented as a
"helper" of the GOOD. The conclusions are that her "Gifts" are from God
- even though at first she was a fake - and what she is and what she
does - God also accepts.
COMMENTS: The film "GHOST" present a Non-Biblical conclusion to what
God's "WORD" says is GOOD and EVIL. BUT... the greater ERROR is that
God accepts & ministered GOOD through spiritualism.
"Life after DEATH"...
The film "Ghost" places the conclusion that there is life after
death. On the GOOD side, there is a definite understanding that when a
man dies, there is a departing from the body. But in the film, there is
the conclusion that men's spirit are lingering here on earth - either
for some purpose approved by God, or as evidence of another possible
"Spiritual" world.
Two deductions could be drawn from the present of these spirit
in the film. During seances, the ghosts [which appeared on screen as
normally dressed people] show no after death purpose. It was as if there
only concern was to contact the living. The second deduction was that
they had the ability to enter peoples bodies. The spiritualist offered
her body to the "Ghost" to have just moment of life with his lover. So
the implication is that when someone is possessed - it's a dead man's
spirit that takes over the body, not demons. [Evil spirits]
COMMENTS: The film "GHOST"presents a Non-Biblical conclusion about
"Life after DEATH". The absence of Judgement right after death is vague
- were scriptural is very clear... " And as it is appointed unto men
once to die, but after this the judgment: [Hebrews 9:27] There is an
unwritten conclusion that it's dead mens spirits that have the ability to
possess a living body. The results of such leave "demons" out of the
picture.
"Spiritualism"....
There is no question that the film "GHOST" leaves the viewer
accepting the realism of contacting the dead. The counterfeit is very
well exposed for it trickery and schemes - but by doing so; belief is
promoted that there just may be someone able to make contact with the
dead - in real life.
Although not mention, the "GOOD WITCH" concept is there. In a
number of scenes the use of the name "Jesus" is used as the reference
to God. The religious background to God as the one who approves and
works through a "Gift" is believable. After all - He [God] would only do
GOOD!
This theme that God supports the use of spiritualism to help work
out the end results of GOOD - has it's strong suggestion to the viewer.
There is almost a "HOPE" left in the mind - that if one could just find
a "real" spiritualist - & contact a love one who has died - GOD WOULD
APPROVE!
COMMENTS: The film "GHOST" promotes spiritualism as a vessel of
GOOD. There is an appetite to investigate realism. The viewer is
overwhelmed by the "so acceptable" spiritual world; that there must be
some "TRUTH" to what has been presented in real life.
Surmising gathered are far from the "TRUTH". God's ways are
exchanged for what the Bible calls "ABOMINATIONS"!
GOD'S "TRUTH"...
* About SPIRITUALISM:
"...LEV 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as
have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a
whoring after them, I will even set my face against
that soul, and will cut him off from among his people."
* About "Life after DEATH":
"...HEB 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once
to die, but after this the judgment: "
"...2CO 5:10 For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive
the things done in his body, according to that he
hath done, whether it be good or bad. "
"...ECC 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth
as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who
gave it."
* About "JUDGEMENT & Life after DEATH":
"...ROM 2:6-11 Who will render to every man according
to his deeds: [7] To them who by patient continuance
in well doing seek for glory & honour and immortality,
ETERNAL LIFE: [8] But unto them that are contentious,
and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness,
indignation & wrath,[9] Tribulation and anguish, upon
every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, &
also of the Gentile; [10] But glory, honour, & peace,
to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and
also to the Gentile: [11] For there is NO RESPECT OF
PERSONS with God.
* MORE "About Spiritualism"...
"...LEV 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar
spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by
them: I am the LORD your God."
"...LEV 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar
spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to
death: they shall stone them with stones..."
Christian "Witnessing" COMMENTS...
The Movie "GHOST" is NOT FROM GOD! Therefore, we can only assume
that it is from some other wisdom. In James Chapter "3", the "WORD"

Christian "Witnessing" COMMENTS...
The Movie "GHOST" is NOT FROM GOD! Therefore, we can only assume
that it is from some other wisdom. In James Chapter "3", the "WORD"
specks about four types of "WISDOM". One from the "WORLD"; one from
"MAN" [sensual]; one from "DEVIL" and one from "GOD". If it's NOT God's
wisdom, then the result are eminent...
CONFUSION AND EVERY "EVIL" WORK....
"...JAM 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above,
but is earthly, sensual, devilish. [16] For where
envying and strife is, there is confusion and every
evil work. "
The Word tells us that Satan comes as an "Angel" of LIGHT" [or
"WISDOM".] The Bible says that the "TRUTH" will set you FREE.
This attach must be fought with God's Truth - THE WORD.
"HOW" To Witness.....
The following suggestion are just a few areas which we can
"revenge" Satan's plan. [2 Cor. 7:11]
*** D E A T H ***
The "FEAR of DEATH" is real to a person who is not saved. It is here
that the battle for a person "SOUL" can be won. A person may never say
that they "FEAR DEATH" but they do...
HEB 2:14-15 Forasmuch then as the children are
partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself
likewise took part of the same; that through death
he might destroy him that had the power of death,
that is, the devil; [15] And deliver them who
through fear of death were all their lifetime
subject to bondage.
CHRIST GIVES "LIFE" AFTER DEATH: Only "GOD'S WORD" offers
assurance that there is "LIFE" after death through Jesus Christ. The
assurance came when God "RAISE" Him from the dead...
ACT 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the
which he will judge the world in righteousness by
that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath
" given assurance" unto ALL men, in that he hath
RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD.
So God has shown that "HE HAS" raised the "JESUS" [the Son
of Man] from the dead... and then promises...
JOH 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
*** J U D G E M E N T ***
Proper understanding of "GOD"S JUDGEMENT" for man from the "WORD"
of God will lead a "SOUL" into the arms of mercy. Yet, in this movie,
there is a misconception of God's LOVE and JUDGEMENT.
To retaliate the wrong presented; there is the need to qualify
when JUDGEMENT will occur. Again, God's "WORD" can clear the air of
wrong perceptions...
* FIRST: When does JUDGEMENT happen? The importance of this
question answered is that the movie presents a "lingering" of "MEN'S
SPIRITS" after death. But the WORD says differently!
Right after DEATH is "JUDGEMENT"....
HEB 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die,
but after this the judgment:
* SECONDLY: What happens at DEATH? JUDGEMENT happens right at
DEATH and again the movie tends to stress that there are those who
linger; but God's "WORD" shows that the "SPIRIT" of a man returns to
God and the body to dust. [or the ground]...
ECC 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as
it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave
it.
THE QUESTION HERE: Are you ready to "FACE" God at Judgement? In the
movie, the viewer is given the idea that "EARTHLY" things left can be
worked out - EVEN AFTER DEATH! But the "TRUTH" from God's "WORD" is
that we can NOT do anything for God after death; and we are to make our
"AFTER DEATH" [Eternal] decisions NOW!
PSA 30:9 What profit is there in my blood [LIFE],
when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee?
shall it declare thy truth?
Just as there is "NO PROFIT" after DEATH to do anything for God;
it's here on "EARTH" while we are alive in the body that we can choose
"LIFE" with God or "DEATH" -Eternally...
DEU 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day
against you, that I have set before you life & death,
blessing $ cursing: therefore choose life, that both
thou and thy seed may live:
*** S I N ***
As we made mention in our review of the movie "GHOST" - The defined
terms for what is "GOOD and EVIL" were NOT God's thoughts on the subject.
The approval of a "SPIRITUALIST" working along side of "GOOD" &
receiving the "OK" from God distorted what real "SIN" is in God's sight.
DEFINING SIN FROM THE BIBLE: The best approach is to give a
Biblical definition of SIN.
* ALL WRONG IS SIN: The word "WRONG" might be better than the
Biblical word "UNRIGHTEOUSNESS"; because a person already has with-in
them - areas which they know are wrong. But the attention is NOT on the
MAN... but what GOD thinks is SIN.
So... the question must be asked... "WOULD GOD CONSIDER [say] IT WAS
WRONG?"
God's WORD says that:
"All unrighteousness is sin" [1JOHN 5:17]
Not being "RIGHT" in God's sight brings us to "ACCEPTANCE" or
"REJECTION" by God. The results of "SIN" are clear in the Bible..
ROM 6:23 For the wages of "SIN" is death; but the
gift of God is eternal life through "Jesus Christ"
our Lord.
* TWO TYPES OF "SIN": There are two different categories of "SIN"
which we can see in the Bible:
FIRST: The SIN of "COMMISSION"...
"... for sin is the transgression of the law," i.e. any act
of disobedience to god's revealed will." [1 JOHN 3:4]
SECONDLY: The SIN of "OMISSION"...
"... Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it
not, to him it is sin." [JAMES 4:17]
*** A C C E P T A N C E ***
Knowing what SIN is in the sight of God can now define if one would
or would "NOT" be accepted when "FACING" God at JUDGEMENT. The Bible can
also direct the answer to this question ...
ROM 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God;
ROM 3:10-12 As it is written, There is none righteous,
no, not one: [11] There is none that understandeth,
there is none that seeketh after God. [12] They are
all gone out of the way, they are together become
unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not
one.
Why not try a "SURVEY"...
A "SURVEY" can open the door to conversation. Results of the SURVEY
could be presented by mail to interested persons. Mailings could include
tracks, invitation to meetings, or a follow-up with Biblical reference.

[If NOT - share briefly the movie story]
[2] Do you believe in "LIFE after DEATH? YES___ NO___
[3] Do you believe you can do anything
about past LIFE on earth after DEATH? YES___ NO___
[4] Do you believe that a "SPIRITUALIST"
is of GOD? YES___ NO___
[5] DO you believe that you will "FACT"
God after DEATH. YES___ NO___
[6] Does GOD approve of talking with the
DEAD? YES___ NO___
Other "COMMENTS"...
** As a Christian... is it necessary to see the file "GHOST" in order
to witness??? I recommend NOT TO SEE THE FILM!
The information provided here is enough to discuss with any "SOUL"
their thoughts on the subjects presented in the film.
One of the reasons I suggest not seeing the film is that it is a "R"
rated film and has other "DEFILEMENTS" such as "LANGUAGE" and "NUDITY".
There is no Christian edification in the film.
** The question comes that by using such a SURVEY will we "tempt" a
person to go and see the film. I don't think that we would be
responsible for the temptation.. BUT we sure would be "AVAILABLE" to talk
with those who did.. if as an after thought they went and saw the film
and had questions.
** I'm personally not in the practice of going to the movies. The Lord
has taken me out of that "LIFE" style. But I've notice, that a number of
Christians have been lowing their standards in this area. I've review a
few "G" rated films and "GP" films.... only to find that "WITCHCRAFT",
"CURSING", & "NUDITY" are more & more coming into this type of
entertainment.
MORE and MORE Christian are accepting their messages. There is no
"VOICE" specking up against their "DEFILEMENT".
PLUS... the Movie Industry has it's "GOSPEL"... which is not being
challenged. Well... I do so in these writings and HOPE and PRAY others
will go forward to bring down the enemy & his plans.
May God use this information to do just that through His BODY here on
