PRAYER

GEN 32:24 And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the

breaking of the day.

GEN 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the

hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he

wrestled with him.

GEN 32:26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not

let thee go, except thou bless me.

GEN 32:27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

GEN 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for

as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

1CH 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.

2CH 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,

and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear

from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

NEH 4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against

them day and night, because of them.

PSA 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face,

LORD, will I seek.

PSA 105:3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek

the LORD.

PSA 105:4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

PSA 145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call

upon him in truth.

PRO 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the

prayer of the upright is his delight.

ECC 5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter

any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let

thy words be few.

ISA 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is

near:

LAM 3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

ZEC 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of

Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me

whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his

only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for

his firstborn.

MAT 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for

they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets,

that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

MAT 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast

shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth

in secret shall reward thee openly.

MAT 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they

think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

MAT 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things

ye have need of, before ye ask him.

MAT 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

MAT 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

MAT 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

MAT 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

MAT 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it

shall be opened unto you:

MAT 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and

to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

MAR 9:28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him

privately, Why could not we cast him out?

MAR 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by

prayer and fasting.

LUK 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when

he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John

also taught his disciples.

LUK 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in

heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven,

so in earth.

LUK 11:3 Give us day by day our daily bread.

LUK 11:4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is

indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

LUK 11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go

unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;

LUK 11:6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing

to set before him?

LUK 11:7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is

now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

LUK 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is

his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as

he needeth.

LUK 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall

find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

LUK 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and

to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

LUK 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give

him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

LUK 11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

LUK 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your

children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them

that ask him?

LUK 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to

pray, and not to faint;

ROM 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what

we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us

with groanings which cannot be uttered.

1CO 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with

the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the

understanding also.

EPH 3:11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our

Lord:

EPH 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of

him.

EPH 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and

watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

EPH 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my

mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

PHI 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication

with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

COL 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

1TH 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

1TI 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands,

without wrath and doubting.

HEB 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may

obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

JAM 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye

may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

JUD 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith,

praying in the Holy Ghost,

REV 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty

elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden

vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

REV 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer;

and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the

prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

REV 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the

saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
