COMMANDMENTS OF CHRIST
MAT 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
MAT 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a
cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his
brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou
fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
MAT 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest
that thy brother hath ought against thee;
MAT 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be
reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
MAT 5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not
MAT 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after
her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
MAT 5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
MAT 5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee:
for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not
that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
MAT 5:31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her
a writing of divorcement:
MAT 5:32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for
the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall
marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
MAT 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou
shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
MAT 5:34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is
MAT 5:35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for
it is the city of the great King.
MAT 5:36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one
hair white or black.
MAT 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is
more than these cometh of evil.
MAT 5:38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth
for a tooth:
MAT 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite
thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
MAT 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let
him have thy cloak also.
MAT 5:41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
MAT 5:42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee
turn not thou away.
MAT 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour,
and hate thine enemy.
MAT 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do
good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and
MAT 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he
maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just
and on the unjust.
MAT 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even
the publicans the same?
MAT 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do
not even the publicans so?
MAT 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
MAT 6:1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them:
otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
MAT 6:2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before
thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may
have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
MAT 6:3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right
MAT 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret
himself shall reward thee openly.
MAT 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast
shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth
in secret shall reward thee openly.
MAT 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they
think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
MAT 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things
ye have need of, before ye ask him.
MAT 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad
countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to
fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
MAT 6:17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
MAT 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in
secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
MAT 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
MAT 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
MAT 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
MAT 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single,
thy whole body shall be full of light.
MAT 6:23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
MAT 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye
cannot serve God and mammon.
MAT 6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall
eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not
the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
MAT 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall
we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
MAT 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly
Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
MAT 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
MAT 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take
thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
MAT 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
MAT 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
MAT 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but
considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
MAT 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
MAT 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then
shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
MAT 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls
before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend
MAT 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you:
MAT 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and
to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
MAT 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give
him a stone?
MAT 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
MAT 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to
them that ask him?
MAT 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do
ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
MAT 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the
way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
MAT 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto
life, and few there be that find it.
MAT 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but
inwardly they are ravening wolves.
MAT 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or
figs of thistles?
MAT 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree
bringeth forth evil fruit.
MAT 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree
bring forth good fruit.
MAT 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast
into the fire.
MAT 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
MAT 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
MAT 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in
thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many
MAT 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me,
ye that work iniquity.
MAT 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I
will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
MAT 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and
beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
MAT 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not,
shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
MAT 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and
beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
MAT 7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people
were astonished at his doctrine:
MAT 7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
MAT 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
MAT 18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast
them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather
than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
MAT 18:9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it
is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes
to be cast into hell fire.
MAT 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say
unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father
which is in heaven.
MAT 18:15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him
his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained
MAT 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more,
that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
MAT 18:17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if
he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a
MAT 18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin
against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
MAT 18:22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but,
Until seventy times seven.
MAT 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing
shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
MAT 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good
but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
MAT 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou
shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false
MAT 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour
MAT 20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of
the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise
authority upon them.
MAT 20:26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among
you, let him be your minister;
MAT 20:27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
MAT 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to
minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
MAT 22:21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render
therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things
that are God's.
MAT 22:34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to
silence, they were gathered together.
MAT 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting
him, and saying,
MAT 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
MAT 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
MAT 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
MAT 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
MAT 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
MAT 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
MAT 24:43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what
watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered
his house to be broken up.
MAT 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the
Son of man cometh.
MAT 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made
ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
MAT 24:46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so
MAT 24:47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his
MAT 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth
MAT 24:49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink
with the drunken;
MAT 24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for
him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
MAT 24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the
hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
MAT 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed
of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the
MAT 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave
me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
MAT 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in
prison, and ye came unto me.
MAT 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee
an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
MAT 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed
MAT 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
MAT 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you,
Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have
done it unto me.
MAT 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye
cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
MAT 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye
gave me no drink:
MAT 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me
not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
MAT 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an
hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not
minister unto thee?
MAT 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as
ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
MAT 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the
righteous into life eternal.
MAR 6:7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two
and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;
MAR 6:8 And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey,
save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:
MAR 6:9 But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats.
MAR 6:10 And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house,
there abide till ye depart from that place.
MAR 6:11 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart
thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily
I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of
judgment, than for that city.
MAR 9:35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any
man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
MAR 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils
in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth
MAR 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a
miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
MAR 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in
me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he
were cast into the sea.
MAR 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to
enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire
that never shall be quenched:
MAR 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
MAR 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to
enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire
that never shall be quenched:
MAR 9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
MAR 9:47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to
enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into
MAR 9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
MAR 9:49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be
salted with salt.
MAR 9:50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will
ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
MAR 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
MAR 10:10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.
MAR 10:11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry
another, committeth adultery against her.
MAR 10:12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another,
she committeth adultery.
MAR 10:17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and
kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit
MAR 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good
but one, that is, God.
MAR 10:19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill,
Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and
MAR 10:20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed
from my youth.
MAR 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou
lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou
shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
MAR 10:22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had
MAR 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
MAR 12:17 And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that
are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.
MAR 13:33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
MAR 13:34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his
house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and
commanded the porter to watch.
MAR 13:35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house
cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
MAR 13:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
MAR 13:37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
LUK 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them
which hate you,
LUK 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use
LUK 6:29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other;
and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
LUK 6:30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy
goods ask them not again.
LUK 6:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them
LUK 6:32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners
also love those that love them.
LUK 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye?
for sinners also do even the same.
LUK 6:34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye?
for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
LUK 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing
again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the
Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
LUK 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
LUK 10:28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou
LUK 10:29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my
LUK 10:30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to
Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded
him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
LUK 10:31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he
saw him, he passed by on the other side.
LUK 10:32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on
him, and passed by on the other side.
LUK 10:33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when
he saw him, he had compassion on him,
LUK 10:34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine,
and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
LUK 10:35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave
them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou
spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
LUK 10:36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that
fell among the thieves?
LUK 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him,
Go, and do thou likewise.
LUK 12:15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a
man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
JOH 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
JOH 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I
have loved you, that ye also love one another.
JOH 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love
one to another.
JOH 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else
believe me for the very works' sake.
JOH 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
JOH 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every
branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
JOH 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself,
except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
JOH 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in
him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
JOH 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye
will, and it shall be done unto you.
JOH 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be
JOH 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my
JOH 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have
kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
JOH 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you,
and that your joy might be full.
JOH 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved
JOH 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
JOH 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
JOH 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater
than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they
have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
JOH 15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake,
because they know not him that sent me.
JOH 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now
they have no cloak for their sin.
JOH 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
JOH 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they
had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
